1) Could u please describe what is "Branch Word Synchronization". The text describes it as "the process of determining the begining of a branch word in the received sequence"? What does 'begining of a branch word' exactly mean?
2) also, the amount of path storage in the implementation of a viterbi decoder is given by, u = h*2^(K-1) K:constraint length h:length of the information bit path history per state.
So, what I infer from the above is that, it takes an arbitrary path and the length of the information bits in that path times number of path in a state (2^(K-1)) gives the amount of path storage? Am i right here?
