Hi, as far as my understanding a square wave contains infinite frequency components..so if we want to transmit a square wave infinite bandwidth is required....then how it is possible for us to display the square wave generated by a function generator on a CRO?? The square wave is compleately displayed on the screen even when it is transmitted through a probe.?.(for this the probe should have infinite bandwidth??) Or is it actually losing some of the frequency components... and since the distance is very less ,the attenuation rate is not affecting considerably? ??

Some of the frequencies (I'd say 'most', since the bandwidth required is infinite) get filtered out. So the signal you receive is not exactly square, but close enough.
