Hai,
In a communication system at receiver end to reduce probability of error "OPTIMUM FILTER" used.In the cases in which noise is usually white noise the optimum filter is called matched filter.
Its impulse response will be 2(K)(S1(t-T)-S2(t-T))/N
here N is twosided PSD of noise
probability of error will be 0.5*erfc((E/N)^0.5 )
