I have a few questions:
1) I would like to confirm one thing about Sequential Decoding algorithm...If it does not find a 'best path', is it a standardized procedure to always assume arbitrarily the 'zero input bit' path first?
2) Now, for a (1,3) convolutional coder, it requires only six time intervals to generate the codeword using the tree diagram. But I am unable to decode the received sequence using the seqeutial decoding when the number of disagreements chosen is 3. Now, the Rx sequence has a low SNR .ie. it has a bit in error in every code symbol of the codebranch. So, I tried increasing the number of disagreements to 4 and tried for 5 too. Tried even for 2, but could not get the correct decoded message. (I might have gone wrong while following the steps, but i rechecked number of times and was unable.) Any suggestions, why is this happening and how to overcome it?
Thanks a.
