Hello everyone,
I am writing a comm book with Dr. Bernard Sklar and wish to get some help from EE/comm students. What I need is for you to solve the homework problems I will be creating and let me know if they are appropriately targeted, level of difficulty etc.
I will post the problems for each chapter on the website and would be most grateful if you would try to solve them and send me a PDF of your efforts.
If you want to read the chapters and critique, that is welcome too.
Thanks,
Charan Langton

Would be very interested in reading it!
I have just been through "Intuitive guide to Principles of Communications" and had some comments as follows- it was very informative, though!: Page 3: Eb should have units of dBW, not dB because it's a power. Example 2: It's not clear initially that it follows from example 1. Power units should be dBW. Figure 2: It's got lost onto next page in my printout. Page 6: Most dBs should be in dBW. Page 6: I wondered what ES stood for; it is probably earth station. Page 7: Example 4: I think dBw should be dBW. page 15: Section "Computing Free Space Loss". I couldn't make sense of the numbers. If you express FSL in dB's, the constant term is 20log(4*pi/c) which comes to -147.6dBW for r in metres or -87.6dBW for r in kilometres. page16: Ex6: Earth station at 22000km; per my calculations you should have FSL=-87.6+... resulting in Preceived=-72.5. best,
Ed

Hi,
The hamming distance between 000110 and 001010 is 2 right? I found you said 3 in the coding file

Ms. Langton,
I would like to proof read your new book. By doing so I will be looking for: 1) Typos, 2) Incorrect statements, 3) Sentence structure more appropriate for an English speaking audience, 4) Rewording of ambiguous statements.
I assume as the forum administrator you have my email.
