Hi, I am modelling a communication system with fading chanel. So i need to plot BER versus mean signal to nosie ratio(avg SNR). Now my question is what is the relation between Eb/No and average SNR when plotting BER.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
Best Regards, Mohsin.

Energy per bit is equal to Carrier power divided by bit rate.
Eb = S/R.
The noise density is total noise divided by bandwidth. So
N0 = N/B.
So Eb/N0 = (S/R)/(N/B) or = S/N + B/R in dBs. So
SNR = Eb/N0 - B/R in dBs.
